QUESTIONS
A. Suitability for brief:
Having read the short project summary of the brief that relates to your picture choice, how successfully (or otherwise) do you feel this solution fits the brief? Please explain your answer.
B. Colourschemes used
What colourschemes have been used in this solution, why do you think this is? Please explain your answer.
C. Art style or visual treatments
What visual 'art style' or treatment has been used here (i.e. diagramatic, pictograms, loose illustrations and/or maybe photographic, vector/flat colour or template mockups maybe)? Do you feel these are appropriate (?) - please explain your answer.
D. Use of type
What type styles have been used here? Do you feel these are appropriate (?) - please explain your answer.
E. Use of corporate ID
Each solution chosen will have a form of corporate ID across the various elements normally. These may be 'given' ID's or colourschemes/refs as part of the brief (or) ones developed as part of the brief by the students. Do you feel these are appropriate (?) - please explain your answer.
F. Visual complexity
Elements on the page or design board.. Some solutions are better as simple but effective solutions, looking at your chosen item do you feel it's 'complexity' of visual elements is appropriate, too complicated or maybe too simplistic? Please explain your answer.
G. Use of additional photoshop elements
Does your chosen element or design board use a mockup or photoshop template to help show it in different scenarios in the real world? These can often help best present visuals and (depending on source used) can either be freely aquired or for a small fee. If 'yes' then please explain how these are used and how effective you feel them to be, if 'no' then do you think using these might improve the overall presentation of the final student work?
H. Suggested further improvements.
Looking at the work and having a summary of the brief, do you feel that your chosen element or board could be further improved still? If 'yes' then please suggest how this might be. If 'no' then please explain why you think they've supplied the optimum solution(s).
Final Overall Q: (Answer this after you've worked through examples from both projects)
I. Looking at these examples of final student outputs on each brief, do you feel that analysing these further has given you further ideas about final presentation of your own work on this project. Please explain your answer whether yes or no.
-----------------------------------
A. Clear map and very legible in terms of font and sizeB. Mostly greens and some beiges, with a touch of blue; earthy tones and blue for water or the sky
C. Vectors and lose illustrations
D. Sans-serif fonts, and yes they are legible and work very well with this blocky style of imagery
E. I can't really seem to find what the 'ID' is, I'm guessing it's the logos at the bottom of the leaflet
F. The layout seems simple enough to look at, but there is actually quite a bit of complexity to it as well, with fitting in all of the text and the placement of the images
G. Yes, the photoshop mockups work well in showing the leaflet and the website in practice, and they do look very good on screen and on paper, they seem just the right size as well
H. The background is a bit flat on its own, it could use a simple pattern, something like the preset wallpaper of Whatsapp, also a beige background but it has some quirky designs on it, which don't distract instead they bring something more to it
B. Mostly darker colours and blacks and greys
C. I'd say this is vector art but I am not 100% sure, for what it is it does work though
D. Sans-serif, guessing Helvetica, a classic; it is very easy to read but it does make it quite corporate
E. Again, I cannot seem to find any sign of an 'ID' on this
F. There is a lot going on in this map, and there is nothing in particular that stands out, it kind of just blurs together
G. The mockups show clearly what the signs would look like on the path, and they are big enough to be seen, but they're still quite dark for the scenery around them
H. Maybe some pop of colour to bring out what's important, the numbers on the map are blending in too much to the other things on there
-----------------------------------
A. It is colourful, it has character, and it is also quite kid-friendlyB. Different hues of green and some red for highlights and to point out interesting things
C. Very illustrative and it really works
D. Illustrative or more cursive fonts, also quite kid-friendly and very friendly and welcoming
E. The red colour seems like an 'ID' but I'm still quite unsure, there are some logos at the bottom
F. Very pleasing to the eye and it is very simplistic but has a lot of detail
G. The mockups look great, the board would look great in reality and the map would be great on an app to follow the route
H. I don't really have any additional improvements
-----------------------------------
Final Overall Question:Yes, it gives me an idea of how to present my work, and also some ideas about layout.
No, our board is much more different as it sticks to the rectangle shape and we've been asked to create a more creative board
